Invitation from the Nutrition-Japan Public-Private Platform (NJPPP) to the Seminar -toward the Overseas Expansion of Food Industries through Constructing a Nutrition Improvement Business Model-

[Seminar Overview]

Approximately 800 million people worldwide are suffering from malnutrition. Malnutrition causes the decline in intellectual and physical ability, reduces household incomes, and hinders economic development. In this situation, Japan is expected to work internationally for improving the nutrition in developing countries, because of its historical experience of having overcome the period of malnutrition through the excellent nutrition policies including school lunch programs and nutrition education and its world-class public and private knowledge on how to improve nutrition.

In the developing and emerging countries where the economies are further growing, the substantial majority of low-to-middle income earners called the volume zone or the next volume zone, the potential next middle class is expected to upgrade its economic status and to become a highly promising market in the future for companies in many countries.

With the aim to constructing the nutrition improvement business models, supporting the Japanese food business, etc., to develop nutrition improvement activities in developing countries as business, and resolving the global malnutrition problem in a sustainable way, NJPPP is promoting the nutrition improvement projects in developing and emerging countries via public-private partnerships.

As a part of the project, the Japan Food Industry Center Association holds a seminar offering the necessary knowledge and know-how for the overseas expansion in the nutrition improvement area. We are waiting for anyone interested in overseas food-related business expansion to join the seminar.
