NJPPP Initiatives

“Support for NJPPP members and others to participate in the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit”

(1) Support of Commitment Making Subcommittee activities for the Tokyo N4G summit

Seven Themes for a Uniquely Japanese Proposal: The Business Constituency Group (BCG), a group of international food-related business associations, set seven commitment areas, and with the support of the NJPPP, seven themes (Japanese food, low-sodium, protein intake, nutrition labeling, improved nutrition in the workplace, hygiene and nutrition in emergency situations, and improved nutrition through distribution) were developed as commitment-making subcommittees.
The activities of this subcommittee were reported as one of the MAFF side events.

NJPPP provided information, held sponsor study sessions, and assisted in the preparation of summaries (vision statements, recommendations for the compact, etc.) as each subcommittee.
In addition, to support the creation of corporate commitments, we conducted “Support Services for the Promotion of Nutrition Improvement Projects by Japanese Food Companies and Others at the Tokyo N4G Summit” in order to 1) collect reference information to support the creation of corporate commitments at each subcommittee, and 2) organize information at each subcommittee and create recommendations to encourage more companies to submit their commitments.

(2) Support for submission of commitments, endorsement of the Tokyo Compact on Global Nutrition for Growth., and endorsement of the Action Plan.

Toward the Tokyo N4G Summit, we have supported study groups and other activities to issue commitments, mainly from the private sector, and have called on member companies and organizations to submit their commitments and endorse the Tokyo Compact on Global Nutrition for Growth.
